Zapa FC’s Win In November Sealed SoCal D2 Title

LA MIRADA (January 14, 2025) – It was a harrowing win in the days following Halloween, and in the end it was more treat than trick for Zapa FC.

Led by Joey Benitez, Devin Orozco and others, Zapa FC beat Montclair Academy FC 4-3 on Nov. 2, which proved to be enough via head-to-head tie-breaker to top Montclair Academy FC for the SoCal Premier League’s 2nd Division title.

The 2nd Division championship and promotion to the 1st Division comes at the end of the first year for the club, which joined SoCal Premier League for the 2025 Spring Season.

Zapa FC took 21 from a possible 24 points with seven wins and one loss - a 3-2 defeat to Academia Gullit on Oct. 19.
