Abronzino Cup Preview: Three Matches Kick Off Opening Weekend

SAN FRANCISCO (November 7, 2025) - The fourth edition of the Abronzino Cup is set to kick off on Saturday, Nov. 8. The tournament is named in honor of Umberto Ambronzino, a pioneer of Bay Area soccer. A native of Italy, Abronzino helped create the Peninsula Soccer League in 1957 and was a pillar of soccer culture in Northern California for many years. This year, the tournament features 10 top amateur clubs from Northern California, all ready to make a statement and claim the coveted Abronzino Cup title.

Let’s take a brief look at each team's history:


Atletico San Jose

Formed in 2019 in San Jose, CA, Atletico San Jose began as an adult men’s open team with the ambition to transform the local soccer landscape. The club has a goal to provide a stage for players to play high-level soccer, with aspirations to advance to the next level of soccer. Aletico San Jose's primary focus is player development. Atletico San Jose takes pride in player development through their DDLC motto, which stands for discipline, dedication, learning, and competitiveness. The club encourages player success through creativity on the pitch and take pride in being a family-oriented club. Atletico San Jose aims to establish an affordable pathway for youth players to transition into collegiate and professional soccer worldwide. This will be Atletico San Jose’s second consecutive appearance in the Abronzino Cup.

Bay Area United FC

Formed in 2014 in Oakland, CA, Bay Area United FC is a community-oriented soccer program that is focused on developing youth players and preparing them for the next level of soccer. The club prides itself on the core values of discipline, opportunity, and passion. Bay Area United FC strives to create an environment that empowers youth player development, focusing on physical health, athletic excellence, academic accomplishments, and personal growth. They are dedicated to creating opportunities for youth players in the Bay Area to hone their skills in a welcoming environment. Bay Area United FC strives to create an environment where every player, regardless of their economic background, is uplifted through inclusive sports programs. This will be Bay Area United FC’s second appearance in the Abronzino Cup. The clubs previously competed in the inaugural Abronzino Cup in 2023/2024.

Dublin Celtic FC 

Formed in 2019 in Dublin, CA, Dublin Celtic FC was established to improve the player development system in North America. The club strives to provide a platform for its players and prepare them for the next level of soccer. Dublin Celtic FC aims to inspire its players to be ambitious by offering a competitive platform for training and games. The first team squad boasts a strong local presence, featuring many homegrown players from Dublin, CA. While they may not have the star-studded power of other squads in the tournament, they pride themselves on a hardworking ethic that creates an electric environment on and off the pitch. Due to their unwavering tenacity, Dublin Celtic FC is always up for the competition and looks to make a statement in this tournament. This will be Dublin Celtic FC’s third consecutive appearance in the Abronzino Cup.

F3 FC

Based in Hayward, CA, F3 FC is a newly-established club competing in SWPL-sanctioned play for the first time. F3 FC stands for faith, fitness, and futbol. Their mission as a club overall is to provide a platform for players to develop their skills, fitness, and competitive mentality. The club strives to attract a diverse group of players from various backgrounds and cultures who can consistently compete as a unified team. Head coach Brianne Pinon is next in a strong line of the first female coaches to lead a men’s team in Northern California, and she looks forward to developing her players to reach their full potential. F3 FC’s goal for competing in the tournament as a new club is to compete at a high level against the more experienced clubs in the tournament. This will be F3 FC’s first appearance in the Abronzino Cup.

In Motion FC 

Based in San Francisco, CA, In Motion FC started as a private soccer training program. The club offers individual and small-group training sessions for youth soccer players. Their goal is to educate and enlighten players to reach their full potential. In Motion FC strives to cultivate a passion for the game by focusing on the individual skills of each player and helping them build upon those skills to become more complete players. In Motion FC believes that developing players' movement without the ball is paramount to player success, in addition to the technical and tactical aspects of the game. In Motion FC is one of the highest-scoring teams in the Pacific Premier League, with a focus on high-tempo, attacking soccer. This will be In Motion FC’s second consecutive appearance in the Abronzino Cup.

JSC JASA

Formed in 2017 in Redwood City, CA, JSC JASA is a community-driven soccer club that strives to create a professional environment. The club focuses on player development through promoting discipline, physical fitness, and skill improvement. The JSC JASA men’s team program comprises a group of highly talented players who compete at the highest level and push one another to reach their maximum potential. Many former players have progressed to the next level of soccer due to the professional environment that JSC JASA fosters. Providing a stage for players to transition successfully to the collegiate and professional levels of soccer is one of JSC JASA's primary missions. These players are ready to take on any challenge and are prepared for this tournament. This will be JSC JASA’s third appearance in the Abronzino Cup.

Legends SC 

Formed in 2024 in Elk Grove, CA, Legends SC was established to exemplify a club based on the European model of training and development. Because many youth soccer-based clubs in the United States are very expensive and have a pay-to-play format, Legends SC saw this as an opportunity to create a club that challenged this system. The club decided to focus on developing players, regardless of their economic circumstances. Legends SC strives to provide a platform for players based on their skill and passion for the game, while also keeping costs down. Legends SC's main objective is to create an environment that enables its players to compete at the highest level. This will be Legends SC's first appearance in the Abronzino Cup.

Santa Clara SC

Formed in 1971 in Santa Clara, CA, Santa Clara SC is one of the oldest and most successful soccer clubs in the United States. Santa Clara SC has made a significant impact at the local, regional, and national levels. Santa Clara SC strives to create a competitive environment for player development. The club put a focus on education and community spirit to prepare players to compete at the highest level. Santa Clara SC prides itself on playing skillful soccer while focusing on three main principles, including work ethic, remarkable player development, and steadfast teamwork. Santa Clara SC has consistently provided a platform for players to be placed in elite development programs. Santa Clara SC were the champions of the inaugural Abronzino Cup in 2023. This will be Santa Clara SC’s third appearance in the Abronzino Cup.

Silicon Valley FC

Formed in 2024 in Sunnyvale, CA, Silicon Valley FC is a newly established team that has seen early success with its women’s team. The Silicon Valley FC women’s team claimed the UPSL Women’s NorCal Conference Championship in 2025. The men’s team entered the Southwest Premier League this past season and played in the Spring 2025 Pacific Premier League Men’s First Division. This will be Silicon Valley FC’s first appearance in the Abronzino Cup.

South San Francisco AC

Formed in 1954 in South San Francisco, CA, South San Francisco AC is one of Northern California’s oldest clubs. The club originated from a junior high school team in the early 1950s and was known as the South San Francisco Juniors. In 1954, the team was renamed South San Francisco AC. Alvaro Bettuchi was the man who created South San Francisco AC. It was his passion and determination that catapulted South San Francisco AC to be one of the strongest teams in Northern California. He provided a platform for kids to learn the sport of soccer and develop their skills, preparing them not only for the next level of soccer but also to become young men off the field. This will be South San Francisco AC’s third appearance in the Abronzino Cup.
