SCPL Week 8 Recap: Real Sociedad O.C. Reclaims Top Spot

LA MIRADA, CA (November 4, 2025) - Big Philip may have put in the performance of the season.

Philip Hephzibah scored four goals as Real Sociedad O.C. defeated Artesia DES FC 6-2 in a SoCal Premier League First Division match at Ross Middle School in Artesia, CA, on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Real Sociedad O.C. (5-0-1 overall) is again in first place in the SCPL First Division with 15 points after the win and has a game in hand.

Austin Tubbs scored a brace in the loss for Artesia DES FC (4-1-2), now in second place with 13 points. Forza SC (3-1-2) is third on 10 points.

Also on Sunday, Forza SC played to a 3-3 draw against FC United Kingdom Oak Creek Park in Irvine, and Temecula FC II drew 1-1 against AMSG Elite at Patricia H. Birdsall Sports Park in Temecula.

In the Second Division, Christian Gonzalez scored twice in two minutes as Academia Gullit defeated Olympiacos CA Reserves 3-1 at Orange County Great Park in Irvine on Saturday, Nov. 1.

On Sunday, Velizar Dimov netted a hat trick as One More FC defeated Atlas FC South Bay 7-1 at Wagner Elementary Field in Placentia, Patrick Castro and Kevin Benjamin each scored a goal for FC Cypress in a 3-2 win over AMSG U23 at Oak Creek Park in Irvine, and Damon Orozco and Andrew Montes both scored a goal for Zapa FC in a 4-3 win over Montclair Academy FC at Ralph M. Lewis Sports Complex in Fontana. Montclair Academy FC’s Stewart Alvayero scored a brace in the loss.

Zapa FC (6-0-1) is in first place in the SCPL Second Division with 18 points. Academia Gullit (5-1-0) is in second place, and Montclair Academy FC (5-0-1) is third.
