SCPL Week 2 Recap: Fuller Nets Brace In Artesia DES FC Win

LA MIRADA, CA (September 22, 2025) - Defender Jonathan Fuller scored twice in the first half, and midfielder Alessandro Benitez added a late goal as Artesia DES FC defeated AMSG Elite 6-1 in a SoCal Premier League Men’s First Division match at Ross Middle School in Artesia, CA, on Sunday, Sept. 21.

It’s the first win in the First Division for Artesia DES FC (1-0-0 overall) in more than 10 years.

Also on Sunday, midfielder Joseph Johnson scored early in the first half, and forward Philip Hephzibah scored late in the second half as Real Sociedad Royals defeated Forza SC 3-1 at Oak Creek Park in Irvine, and midfielders Lex Leathem and Adam Rider both scored a goal as FC United Kingdom were held to a 2-2 draw against Temecula FC II at Orange County Great Park in Irvine.

In the SoCal Premier League Men’s Second Division, forward Stewart Alvayero scored four goals as Montclair Academy FC beat One More FC 8-1 at Wagner Elementary Soccer Field in Placentia, forward Matthew Mendoza scored a brace in the first half as Zapa FC defeated Atlas FC South Bay 6-2 at Lake Forest Sports Park, and midfielder Julio Suarez and forward Carlos Suarez both scored twice as FC Cypress defeated Olympiacos CA Reserves 6-3 at Pleasant View Park in Huntington Beach. Olympiacos CA Reserves forward Moises Martinez had three goals in the loss.
