FC Cypress Gets Back To Brent Freeman Cup Final

LA MIRADA (June 6, 2025) - Two years after its last appearance in the Brent Freeman Cup Final, FC Cypress is a different side.

Now operated by gaffer and centerback Randall Davis, FC Cypress plays Forza OC in the Brent Freeman Cup Final on Saturday at Al Barbour Field on the campus of Biola University.

"We’ve been talking about the opportunity," Davis said. "We are so excited."

FC Cypress lost to current Division One champion La Familia FC back in the 2023 Brent Freeman Cup Final. This year, the team battled through the knockout rounds, using two goals from Jerry Murillo to defeat Playmaker FC in the semifinals.

In its first tournament appearance, Forza OC stunned with a come-from-behind win over Pasadena Cali SC in the quarterfinals before beating Olympiacos OC in the semifinals to get to the title game.

Admission is $10. Children 12-and-under are free.
